I am in love with my Linton Bassoon. That is the simplest way to put it. I won it on eBay for $396. It just got here. It is truly amazing. My first time ever touching a bassoon, I can play the really high and low notes. Lintons are not "crap," they are good instruments.

Lots of people love their Lintons. On the older bassoons, condition and previous upkeep is everything. Sounds like you got a great deal!

I play a Fox model II, but my reserve and outdoor instrument is a Linton. Economical and reliable.
