Have yall ever heard of a piece called "Centaurus" by Vander Cook and if you have do you think it is a good piece for if your trying out for an orchestra and if yall have any coments on the piece that would be great too

yeah it`s in the rubank book. it was trumpet all state music for alabama 2 years ago. i don`t see why you shouldn`t play it but there`s a lot more classical stuff that you should try if you can. if you do play it it needs to be very bold sounding

What grade are you in? Centaurus is a very easy song I played it in 5th or 6th grade(can`t quite remember) but it was like 4 years ago I played. I played my 2nd year in trumpet. Carnival of Venice and Hyden are so much harder than Centaurus why would you even suggest those. I can still hardly play hyden after 6 years.

i could play haydn after 3 1/2 years. or you could play something like blue bells of scotland out of the arbans book.
