I have tried 3c, its too deep, too large, and want to know if 5c is similar but not as deep of a bowl?

Can anyone give some input?

What`s your current mouthpiece? The 5c has the same diameter as a 3c-.640 but has a slightly smaller cup. I find it much less comfortable than the 3c because the rim is more sharp and less rounded.

My current mp is 7C - I did use 3c for a while- but its just too dep- BUT I have thicker fuller angelina jolie type lips and found the 3c more comfortable.

If the cup is too deep they why dont you check out their shallower cups too? Last time I checked bach offered a D,E,and F(<-shallowest) cup which are shallower than the C.

i can already sense you hurting yourself with switching mp`s. a 7c is just as deep as a 3c except it is more wide. how long have you been playing? if you`re thinking that a 3c is too deep of a mp than you probably don`t have much lip strength. do lip slurs and long tones for 10 minutes a day and warmup properly, do that for a month and then see how your strength has changed. maybge than you might like a 3c. you`ll be a much better player if you do this.

it`s all good... we all reccomend different things when it comes to mouthpieces because we all play differently... i was suggested to switch to a schilke 14a4a by a guy in the area and i tried it out and can`t stand it. i play a bach 1.5 c for jazz and marching and a 1b for concert. i have huge lips... so i naturally tried out every mouthpiece ever made (exaggeraton) and i found out a lot about mouthpieces. if anybody has questions you can e-mail me with you info (how long have you been playing, how big are your lips, what music do you play, how hard do you blow, and what kind of horn do you have) and i could give you some SUGGESTIONS on what you might like to TRY out. always try mp`s before you buy them.
