I'm so freaking tired of people posting topics about high notes... there are like 9871598473921087498 topics on this one forum about how to play high notes... i used to actually respond but now i just laugh at people that ask and i say "play with more pressure" and they say things like "i've tried that but it keeps getting harder to play"... if you're that stupid about trumpet playing than you're obviously not ready to learn how to play high. from now on just read the other threads

Finally, someone speaks the truth. Yes, range is good to have, but isn't developing a good sound quality along with basic fundamentals just as important if not more important than having a good range? I don't care how high somebody can play, if his or her sound quality is not good, I would not want to hear him or her play.

Yeah. It's almost funny at this point when you see someone trying to push the horn through their face. People can be a bit dumb.

Thats mean. Most books don't tell you to tighten your lips. And yes, people who push the horn into their face are a bit dumb.

I'll agree that the "high note" syndrome, or obsession as is probably the more accurate term, has been and will likely always be a frequent topic among trumpet players, especially those of the younger set. My personal opinion is that if one gets little satisfaction from playing other than high notes, one should play a piccolo trumpet.
