i have this problem at my school were all of the trumpet players are jocks and can not play trumpet worth dirt. i this only at my school or is this common. (not meant to be offensive) trumpets are cool just not when they steal the show.
At my old school there were only three trumpets and we were all girls. I was first chair and I'm deffinatly not a jock and I play pretty good. The second chair was kinda annoying but she could woop your butt in soccor anyday. And our third chair was a first year that was moved up to advanced band because she was learning so fast that beginning band was holding her back. So no I don't think all trumpet players are jocks.
Ha, trumpet players DO have the biggest egos in the band quite possibly.
Besides percussion of course. '_'
But..I try not to be too cocky or anything, though some of my underlings are quite the show offs..
HUH?! since when were band geeks or how u guys say jocks, popular?! i dont think its possible! well there some kid dat is in percussion and he hangs out wit da popular but they just feel sorry 4 him, seriously! it isnt possible. and i dont think all trumpet players are jocks. we only have 3 and they are all girls. i wouldnt say they are good but atleast we have them. Any1 go to band camp?
only one at my school is. most of the time it is because trumpets need to be a little kocky because it help when you try for some of the notes that are out there
At my school the trumpet players all seem too odd to be jocks. And the majority of the section consists of girls anyway, but the guys are unathletic and are far from being considered "cool" but are fun to hang out with anyway.
hmm..well this is kinda interesting..we had 9 trumpets in our HS symphonic band last year...2 did sports..id consider one a jock..but the rest are unathletic and are way more into videogames and stuff..in our band..the most athletic section was probably the clarinets or the alto saxs. the clarinets had at least 6 people in track and the saxs had like 4..i dont really know, at our school..allot of the band seems to be in at least one sport..allot of us realize that all the running they make us do increases our lung capacity....
i'm both a trumpet player and a jock,and fairly good at both, probably a better musican though, theres one other sporty type person in a trumpet section, and probably the second best trumpet player in r band, besides myself

2nd chiar is currently in Juevinille hall.. till school starts... and she doesnt do sports
3rd chair.... runs track
4th chair.... is a fine arts geek
5th chair.. boy scout.. tries to run track and XC
6th chair.. boy scout..
Abaout trumpet players and jucks. I am as far away from a jock as you can get. I am bad at sports and good at math. I know some trig and i havent even started my first year in highschool. And you dont need sports to be good at trumpet. I am first chair in my school band and the kc youth jazz band and yes i have an ego
