Do you think I would be better off getting the my first arbans book or the arbans method book. This is my third year playing trumpet.

go with they arban's method. I've been working off of it for about a year now. It helps you along the way giving you the basic long tones to the really hard stuff like the full length variations in the end. It has a variety of etudes that you can play around with. It's definitly worth buying. This is my 7th year of play the trumpet.
