I have been playing alto sax for about 8 years or so and have, just recently, gotten a serious interest in learning trumpet. I went on ebay and purchased a Bundy that looks to be a couple of decades old, but the seller assured me it was just serviced and it seems to play well (even though I don't play it well yet ).

It does, however, have a big, skinny dent that goes a bit sideways/outwards in the bell that just stops short of affecting the rim. Will this affect my sound? Also, was a Bundy a good trumpet to go with? I used to have a Bundy alto sax, when I first started out, and that seemed to be of good quality, but they are different instruments... Also, it came with 3 mouthpieces: a Vincent Bach 1 1/2C, a Vincent Bach 10 1/2C, and a Conn 3. Which would be best to start on? (so far, I prefer the sound of the Conn 3...)

A Bundy is a pretty standard student trumpet. Not the best intonation but good for a beginner.

Mouthpiece size really depends on the player. Most people start with the standard 7C. I use a 14B4. Use whatever you think you can play best on.
