well, my current teacher who is the music teacher at southern university at new orleans said to me "there are varies of position for tonguing". to tongue a proper low C the tongue have to thrust from the lower part of the teeth. to tongue a proper middle G the tongue have to thrust from the middle part of the teeth and to tongue a proper middle c the tongue have to thrust from the upper part of the teeth. make sure that you do not prenonce the syllable THA, instead say the syllable Ta. make sure the tongue do not splip between the teeth. For rapid tonguing or Double Tonguing, there is a lot of lessons in the Arbans` book.to double tongue prolong the syllables Ta Ka slowly. keep the tongue princable in mind.after a while you will get better at it,but don`t practice all day on it. practice on the basic first. and that it for tonguing. It is good to know the range of the trumpet. start with the middle register than lower than the upper. remember to take a deep breath and toungue with air behind it. try long high tones. keep the air even.LOTS of even amount of air= means good sound.

Practice don`t make perfect.
Perfect Practice makes perfect.
