hey

fairly new to the trumet and im having problems with getting the C on the third space of the stave from the bottom and any notes above it.

how can i over come this problem and how do the different sizes of the mouthpieces work? im using a size11B4

Your mouthpiece is fine. The answer to your range problems is practice, not a mouthpiece change.

Indeed, TCLead is correct. A good exercise you can do is to start on the low C or the lowest note you can reach and go up to your high C and then down again. The goal is to have enough air to get from the bottom to the top, it also reinforces the notes you already know. Strong, solid air is the necessity to playing well on trumpet.

Hey, I'm playing on a 7C mouthpiece, and have been for my entire two years of playing. When do you think I should change to another mouthpiece like a 5C? I can get up to Bb right below high C.
