Kidding. I've been playing trumpet for about a year. I can hit a high E above the staff line, but I have (admittedly) pretty bad technique so I don't consider myself very good.

I spend too much time on guitar and oboe, heheh.

i play piano and trombone but i've studied alot of music and i know all about the trumpet and the dificulties of playing the high notes. hiting high notes on a trumpet is a little bit harder then on a trombone but it is still a chalenge. a profesional trombone player should be able to play a double high d witch is like playing an e -0-

on a trumpet but if you have a good lip for a trombone(also like on a trumpet)the posibilities are end less. right now i can hit a double high A witch is like your triple high B. but i have herd trombone players play a triple high f whitch is un heard of on a trumpet.

our princible trumpet player for our band could play up too a triple high c but he never played the c because it was painfull and wasn't clear but he was still a great player and fun to listen too. a real natural talent.

I got to double G the other day. I know I did it because I sat next to the piano, and pressed the key to make sure I actually hit it. My head really hurt after I did it.

well back in my high school days, I usually got up to a double Bb but now the highest for me is a triple G.

On a given day I can hit a high C and D.

If I really try, then I might be able to hit a E or F.

Reading these has been quite interesting, it reminds me of the old days when I played in High School. I used to try to squeeze out as high a note as I could. I just picked the horn back up a short time ago and have found that I am learning some things should have learned back then. I read this article "http://www.bobbyshew.com/" clinic page, section, Four Fundamentals of Troubleshooting for Brass Players. It was a revelation. After reading it I have been smoothly running up the scales to high c and back down without trying to squeeze out a note. I am playing a clean soft High C that doesn't sound like a squeak or squeezed out note. Essentially by lowering the bell on my cornet (I am now using a cornet with a 5C Bach mouthpiece), raising my shoulders and lifting my tongue to create a smaller air chamber, the air can be forced with greater pressure without pressing the lips hard against the mouthpiece or squeezing the lips tight.

I am playing for my own satisfaction now so I am experimenting with all sorts of sounds and techniques.

Thanks

well, 2 months into playing I hit a double F#
That was 2 years ago..The highest note I played that I know of (as in sat in front of a tuner and saw the note it registered) was a double C

But I've gone higher. Sadly, that's all I'm known as; the "screamer"

The best all around mouthpiece to use is the Marcinkiewicz Bobby Shew #1. I've been playing on it for almost 4 years and I play night after night. I usually play around middle C up to the high B (just below triple C). I never get tired during a 3 hour gig. I play lead in our band. If you want to hear samples of what we do, go to Myspace. com and use the search function and type in horndogsband. On the song "The Letter", I hit a high B flat during the solo.
Enjoy
