Yeah those are good charts, but his older stuff is definitely his best. His newest bands were always smaller combos where other tpts did the majority of the lead playing. good tunes though
I recently heard Maynard's version of Pagliacci, and I may have to call it my favorite now. He just screams the melody at the end and he seems to never run out of juice. It's from his younger days, and he just destroys the horn. Awesome chart.
