I really need advice on what mouth piece to get to consistently hold a note about the double-C. Anyone's advice is gratefully appreciated. Thanks and God Bless!

practice...duh...you don't need a new mouthpiece. There is no mouthpiece that will magically make you play high.

he's right practice. i could hit a triple c with a 5c mouthpiece if i try because i practice 4 hours a day. the key to gettin high is air and lots of practice. you have to build up endurance and when it's build up it should start to come natural and when it's natural you should be able to force it a little bit. but on a regular basis i play with 3c. but if i'm playing a jazz ballad like maynard's i like the blues (something like that) i would play with a 1c just so i could hit half the notes in that piece lol.

Yeah I agree with practicing more. You have to build up your chops to hit higher notes. That is just the way it is. There are mouthpieces that are a bit easier to hit high notes, but you still have to have the chops for it. I usually play on a 3c about 80% of the time. I own a shilke 10a4a mouthpiece for jazz band that is more bright and jazzy. It also helps me out a little when I go for the higher register. So I mainly got it for the sound, but having it help me a bit is very nice. You just have to get the right lips for the job...Hope this helps.

I have a variety of mouthpieces.... I have a 7C, a 5C (bach), and a 14A and a !4A4A Shilke mouthpieces. I practice 2 hours a day and my main problem is that the air doesnt flow and I try to increase my endurance of air flow and everything....I don't know............o well.....
