I am fairly proficient with guitar and banjo, but I've just recently dusted off the trumpet I played in middle school band several years ago, and needless to say... I'm out of practice.
So I was wondering if there is any advice you could give for someone who is going to trumpet with a background in guitar, or if not, just any advice you might offer for learning how to play trumpet riffs with a rock band and learning how to pick up on them quickly. (Because I don't have perfect pitch)
i would suggest learning from an essentials elements book before moving on to more complicated music, to rebuild your skills ^^. then, when you are back to being a great player, you should get some jazz and rock and funk music. its good for pitch and learning to play all kinds of notes and styles, also some ballads, help pitch. also, solo as much as possible. ^^ just make up whatever is in your heart, and play it. good luck to you!
well, it really depends on your level already, because i dont know how you play, so just start where your comfortable with and good luck with that rock band! and the riffs
