I'm a concert bassoon player and a marching sax player, and of course i had to pick an instrument that doesn't involve DCI band... i have thought of some brass instruments and i like the trumpet the best... i do like the tuba but i couldn't carry it with my weight and size... i am only five foot so that is a big issue... anyways how hard do you think it would be to switch from bassoon/sax?? Just so im not enough of a band geek i want to learn another instrument so i can possibly play in a DCI band... if you think another instrument would be better for me PLEASE give me suggestions... i appreciate it!!

I can't really help you, but I'm going through the exact same thing, only I would like to make the switch a permanent... Sorry that I can't help you at all...

Switching from wind to a brass instrument would be quite difficult because of how they are played. Wind uses a wooden mouth piece and brass uses a "metal" one where you change your obresure quite a bite.

If you were to switch, I would consider plenty of practice.
