practice, take some days off too. its good for lips...well, mine atleast. also make sure you have a correct ombisure. if you dont, you can practice and practice and it will do no good.

Hey...ive been playing my trumpet for a little while now...maybe four or five yrs....ive noticed that ive you play atleast thirty minutes a day..working and playing around with high notes..that it actually helps out a lot. Another thing that will work is as you play each day take some time to just pratice some scales...going from note to note..till you get as high as you need to be/ or want. Do this as much as you can and you should do great...just make sure you know never go all out..you don`t want to kill your lips. If you r lips start to hurt like theyre bleeding or w/e....take a break for a day or so ya konw...anyhow thought id try to help you out with a pointer or to. Goodluck

I`ve been playing for a while now, and the best thing to do is lip slurs.

haha

wow

Tank is a very good song..
I`ve had the pleasure of playing in my High School Jazz band.. My Freshman year..
(i`m now a sophmore studying at Juliard School of Music NY)
theres no way to cheat high notes..
the best way is the practice.. indefinitely..
and Spencer..
I`m sure you`re a talented young man.. perhaps like another Claude Gordon.. but you just can`t get too cocky..
that`ll just make you think you`re better than everyone else.. and when you do meet that person who is better than you, you will feel pretty bad. Take it from me.. I`ve dont it myself.. I started Trumpet in 4th grade..
I`m not in 10th grade..

so Jonathan..
just try to practice..
long tones.. (one long low note preferably either a bottom C to a G. Hold that note out for about 4 measures of $/4 time.. then work your way to longer measures.. be sure to get proper breath support by breathing into your stomach and not into your upper abdomen making your shoulders go up. this will help.. and make sure you hold the notes out at Pianisimo volume)

Hi guys. I`ve been playing trumpet since 6th grade and i am a highschool senior. I can double tongue and reach a double high C on most occasions. I would like the TANK song..i think its pretty cool...email it to me if you want. Thanks and good luck to all of you tryin to reach high notes. I know that its a little dificult but with the right practice and correct air control and embrochure, you`ll get there. I know that i am stil tryin to reach way up there but i really just need to work with sound quality. I do have a great sound i think but i want to work with that more than anything. Any suggestions guys. Thanks
