I`m looking to learn trumpet, and I really don`t know anything about them, could anyone tell me which makes would be good for a beginner (I`m on a tight budget), and I`m looking to learn mainly ska-punk if that matters...

Im also wanting to start trumpet. Ive found this though: http://www.gear4music.com/index.php?sec=proddetails&pcode=TRUMPET&sid=863386427d7064dc7ae5d4ecd2c6378a

what do people think of it? and how do you actually play trumpet, all i know is that there are 8 different combinations you can have:

o o o
x o x
o x x
x x o
x o o
o x o

what else is there from that?

thanks

Those are the first 8 notes of your chromatic scale. the 0`s stand for open fingers on the horn and x`s are pushed down. It is shown as if you were looking down your horn.

Jamie -

I don`t have the time or will to even graze the surface of how much "more there is to it." If you`re really interested in learning to play, find someone who plays trumpet proficiently to help you get on your way. If you learn to play with a professional teacher`s guidance, you`ll excel ten times faster then the average beginner. I wish I had done that...

Cheers,
Aaron
