I have a Selmer Manhattan small bore, silver trumpet that I have had since a kid (which was a very, very long time ago). I have recently gone back to playing after a forty year abscence and was wondering that although it has seen better days, silvering wearing through excessive playing when younger, although I think that gives it character, and a small dent here and there and the slide adjuster thread and bracket missing, whether it worth restoring ?

Trumpets are worth what you can sell them for. Try offering it for sale on the website called Preloved. See what offers you get. You don't have to actually sell it and the advertising is free.

I just had another look and there's a Getzen make, Doc Severinson model silver plated trumpet on offer for £495, so why not have a go?
