heylo ppl. well, I have a bit of bad news. the other day before marching band practice started layed my trump on the floor so i could sit down and we got called to attention and i kinda mmm... stepped on it. so there was this major dent in the bell right where the little support thing comes in. my band director straightened it a little, but it still has a slight bend and 2 big dents. should i buy a new one, or try ot get the dents repaired? if to buy, where can i get one of good quality in the $200-400 price range? tahnx

to try n answer ur question u can go 2 any music store and get an estimate of how much it would b 2 repair it compared 2 the price of a new one. thats pretty much wat i did for a violin my dad found and we found out that repairing it would cost as much as buyin a new one so i hope this helps

That sort of repair should be relatively simple to perform, and I highly doubt it would cost more than about $50. Brass instruments are quite easy to work on, because of the pliability of the metal and the ability to take the solder joints apart and rebuild or replace parts. In this case, it should be simple dent work, and should not be costly or difficult.

Ypu must feel like someone kicked you. It should not cost a lot, and should be easy to fix at a repair shop. there may be a slight mark, but see how you go.

Dizzy G did the same, and it became his trademark.... A "Blake Modified".. hmm sounds good?
