I just got my saxophone yestarday but I have alittle previous experience and on the inside of my mouth under my bottom lip, its really hurting and I can see where I'm pressing with my teeth to make the reed vibrate, am I doing this wrong or will I get used to it?

it sometimes takes a while to get used to, but shouldnt hurt that much, maybe try not pressing down as hard? you can get teethguards which go over your bottom teeth so they dont dig into your lip as much. also, maybe you`re practicing too much, you should build up the amount of time that you play so that your lip gets used to it. hope this helps

the thing is, I just got my saxophone 3days ago and I have 1week until; school starts so I have to practice alot, but thanks, I should look into that teeth guard thing
