i play the euphonium i your the first person who knows what it is
you should go ahead and the chancers are that it wont happen, athough they might look the same a tuba is much MUCH bigger and harder to play. even if they do just get real good and they will keep you

they shouldn't put you on tuba. i mean how often do you have studenst willing to play the euphonium. most of the time you would have to break a kids arm to get him to play it. i think it's great you want to play it. good for you. just do what you want

Man, don't worry, I play trumpet, trombone, eupho and tuba. My embrouchure is alright, just takes time getting use to it. but, i understand why you don't want to learn tuba, it big, heavy and you need LOTS of air!

My personal belief! The muscles you use are the same. You just shape them a little different. Sure you have to refocus for whichever instrument you are about to play but if you warm up well it should work.
I have to teach them all Wind and Brass and play most badly but you are definently using the same muscles.
Having said all that, Tuba is one of the hardest!!!!!!!
