I'm a woodwind player trying to prove to my brass friends that the "Wonderful Woodwinds" are better than the "bad brass". What do y'all think? Woodwinds or brass? (this is purely for fun) GOOOOO WOODWINDS!!
well some random person asked me once what my instrument was and I said "bassoon." Then he told it was bad a**. lol. In my mind bassoon owns the other woodwinds but I wouldn't say as a whole that woodwinds are better than brass. I love low brass.
whats the best are those special people who belong in both groups! WOO LOL
LIke piccolo playing tubas
or clarinet playing french horns
or flute playing trumpets
I would have to say its all about the LOW BRASS!!!! As a Bari Sax player myself, given the nature of the horn (woodwind) Bari's have always been and will continue to be part of the Low Brass section. That's why I love the Bari it is a "hybrid" instrument...made as a woodwind but plays side by side with the low brass!!! And all you Low Brass and Bari Sax players know what I'm talking bout.
Not to sound too obnoxious, or god forbid ignorant, but I've always found the personality of the woodwinds to be a little more welcoming, and in general more fun, although I'm close with several horn players, too.
In terms of listening to the sound, brass will sound better, UNLESS the woodwinds are professionals. At the high school levwl though, forget it, listen to the brass...
