my private horn teacher is all for this other trombone playing in a different school, so he is trying to discourage me by litterely saying to my face that i will not get 1st chair trombone, so im going ot practice the crap out of the Friends waltz and play it with the best tone i can possibly get out of it and all that, all i need to know before...what is the tempo for a waltz, i dont want to ask him because he`ll tell me wrong and then im not going to get into to it, so im just trying to play it safier. also, is there like a special way to play a waltz, all the waltzs i play are easier...its funny becausew the all state music is almost easier than the all district

are you trying to say that your teacher is trying to teach you something you dont want to learn about?

i think thats what im getting from that first sentence.... i have no clue

i suggest you rethink what your trying to say.

and a waltz can be a variety of tempos.
but if i were to guess it would be around quarter = 160-180

no, i want to learn what my teacher is trying to teach me, what he is doing is discourging me from getting a good chair, i want to learn as much as i can but im not going to learn from someone who gives me lessons for his own benfit, he gets better on tuba while im paying him to tell me that i need to put air through my horn, that this music can be hard, that i missed a note when i told him i did, oh well, im getting another teacher
