I know that most people would not agree with learning how to scream for marching band because the trombone is a part of the "foundation" of most marching tunes, but I still want to learn for personal satisfaction. Is there anyone that can give pointers on or help teach how to scream on a tenor trombone?

Um... because it`s fun? Honestly why can`t we ever do something simply because it`s fun. Who cares if the trumpets do it better. As long as it isn`t taken too seriously who cares?

See thats interesting, saxes aren`t supposed to scream either, but they do. Just because trumpets can do it easier than us doesn`t mean we shouldn`t try. So who cares if they sound better. I don`t understand why everybody is against playing high. I mean, face it it`s almost as fun as playin loud!

A Jet-Tone will help, sure, but everything else will suffer.
Here is my 2 cents. Don`t worry about playing high, worry about playing WELL. High notes will come over time if you practice properly. I used to fall into the trap of "small mouthpiece is better because you can play higher", but it really is not true. I now use a rather large mouthpiece, a Warburton 5G, and my range is the same with that as it was when I got my Jet-Tone, but it also sounds good.
That is what we should be after, sounding good, not playing as high as we can.

Well, contrary to what the other people are saying, i also love to scream on the bone. The best thing to do at home are full range lip slurs. Example: start on low b flat, then go to shelves up, one down, two up, etc. Another awesome exercise is to start on F in the staff, and at a slow tempo play up one note in the b flat scale, then back down. Without removing your lips from the mouthpiece, breathe in from your nose, then play the next note, go up a scale step, then go back down. Repeat this pattern until you can`t play any higher because your lips are shot. Freebuzzing also helps strengthen your muscles. I have plenty of other excercises, e-mail me if you want. Just remember, you can always play higher!
Good Luck!
If you want to hear somebody scream musically on trombone. Check out Dave Steinmeyer at tyhe site below. Rick Lilard is another screamer on bone. I feel it is the best bone album out there.
or listen to the bone solo from Chicago`s "Beginnings"
james pankow comes out on a beautiful high C# and on his second solo, wails on a high E, if i remember correctly.
i assume that when you say "scream" you mean play high notes with that really agressive tone?
all i`ll say is, it requires a strong embouchure, but even more importantly, masterful air management, and proper focus of the airstream. and of course a really good sense of pitch.. (if you can`t hear the note, you can`t play it).
a wise man once said to me...
"if you want steinmeyer range, you don`t need steinmeyer`s chops... you need his brain!!" the longer i play , the more i believe this to be true.
if you work on proper technique, range will come. here`s a killer article to help you... http://www.jazztbone.com/articles/developing_the_upper_register.htm
