that's just it man... the guys I look up to are the guys who can play ANYTHING. My teacher for instance plays principal bone in a symphony AND lead trombone in the Navy's premier jazz ensembe, The Commodores. He does both extremely well.
Look at Alex Iles. He plays in symphonies, works in films, LA studio musician, AND plays in Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band.
those are the guys I aspire to be. that's why I don't say I have a favorite style. Right now, I'm spending a lot of time on classical stuff because I am working up an audition. And I do really love classical. but in reality, I just love music, and playing trombone.

i do agree with you, i always look up to those people that can play any style with passion and intensity and a great sound, and i also love to play all types of music. im in a concert band which plays movie themes, classical, rock etc etc... and im also in a Jazz Band. even though i love to play all these types i do enjoy to play Jazz the most, but i see what you mean as you dont have a favourite and pretty much all music is your favourite.

I love marching style music. I don't know why but I just do. High school marching can be good, depending on the dedication of the students, but I especially love the drum corp.
