if you havent listened to them i would highly sugjest that you do. they are, if not the best, one of the best jazz bands of today. my favorite songs of theres are "attack of the killer tomatoes" "jazz police" "and cut'n run".be sure to listen to those if your a jazz fan.
Absolutely.. some killer tunes and what a killer bone section. Andy Martin, Charlie Morillas, Alex Iles, and Craig Ware (or Bill Riechenbach, it depends on the tune). And don't forget Wayne Bergeron on lead trumpet, Eric Marienthal in the sax section (among many others, of course!)
If you really want a challenge, there is a book you can buy with ten first trombone parts form the GGBPB repertoire, as well as a cd with the lead bone part taken out of the mix so you can play along. They sure aren't easy! Two years ago our big band did three GG tunes and had an absolute blast with them.
I like Jazz Police, Hunting Wabbits, Count Bubba, Mozart 40th Symphony in G Minor, and Thad Said No. My brother played Count Bubba in All State Jazz band.
Great Band, Great Arrangements! Sing Sang,Swung is awesome. Also a Great Lead Trumpet Player in Wayne Bergeron. Check out some of the Surrond Sound Mixes if you have a home theater 5.1 set-up. XXL CD
our band played high matenence and jazz police. we got jazz police doun reall easy bot high matenence was a chalenge. our trombone section has been beging our directure to get atack of the killer tomatoes but i don't thank he will
I love the Big Phat Band! Especially Wayne Bergeron and Rick Shaw. My school's jazz band got to do a concert with Wayne. He's a great musician and a great guy. Does anyone have trumpet music to Count Bubba?
