All instruments play a vital role in an ensemble. I would never dislike anyone because of the instrument they play. Play in tune, in time, with a nice sound, show me the same courtesy and respect I show you, and we'll get along just fine.

The trombone players who show hatred toward trumpet players are immature.
For what it's worth, I hate bagpipes.
This should be a fun topic.

How many trumpet players does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
11. One to screw it in and 10 to tell them how they could have done it better.
That said, I don't hate any specific instrument, I just hate certain players. Yeah Steve, those disrespectful ones.

There can't be any real reason to hate a trumpet player!!My best mate is a trumpet player and we end up workin together on at least 1 session a day!!Poor James Morrison,he's a marveous trumpet and trombone player,I wonder does he hate himself sometimes?

I'm probably speaking for myself here...
I dont think trombone players hate trumpet players in general. We don't hate ANY instruments in general (except maybe bad oboes, lmao,jk). (this is a generalization)But almost every trumpet section has that one kid, that thinks hes great stuff and a little rude. We dont like that attitude. Its not about the instrument its about the individual with attitude. We wouldnt like that attitude from a flute or cello player either. It seems however, that the attitude ppl always seem to be in the trumpet section.
Its funny, I've actually played both instruments. So if trombones hating trumpets was completely true, Id have to hate myself. :-)

then again...what section doesn't have a kid who thinks that...but I disagree about it just mainly trumpets, to me, and I say it more than likely varies for every band, its the entire band...thats my take on it

I wouldn't say that we hate you, I think it's mostly because there is...rivalry.There's the word.
In my band the only ones we could possibly hate are the three last flute players who are only in band to get an easy A.

I'm not going to weigh in on this, but I have to say that it is probably one of the more interesting debates I've seen on here.

i have noticed in band that each section has it's own personality (in general) like french horn players are usualy the quiet type saxiphone players are usualy the cool, layed back easy going type...... i think that trumpet players are in general good people but many are a bit aragent and somtime jerks and that is what alot of trombone players might not like about them. it's just the personalyity that comes with a trumpet. that dosen't mean they all are but it is a steriotype. i personaly don't have any problems with trumpet players both my dad and my brother played the trumpet but i know all too well how they can be.

Well, the thing I don't like about trumpets is that they think they're better than everyone else! They are extremely arrogant and always criticize trombone players, when really the trombone player is a better musician with a harder instrument. I don't think they realize how much harder our instrument is than theirs. How do I know? Well, it took me a few weeks to learn trombone. It took me 9 minutes to learn trumpet/euphonium. (euphonium is possibly the easiest instrument of all time.)
