i just looked up the contra bass trombone. all i found was some pictures. it looks awsom. has anyone here ever played one or seen one or know how they work i am really interested.
I tried something similar to a contrabass trombone up at Shires, and it required a very large mouthpiece. You had to blow almost as much air as a tuba.

By the way, contrabass trombones are pitched a fourth lower. They are if F instead of Bb.

The slide is so long that it requires a handle to reach the outer positions.

not all of the contrabass require handles, theres the double slide contrabass, thats just where the slide wraps around itself twice. and contrabass is basically the same as a tuba with a slide, basically.
