I think we all have... or will at some time or another. It's really funny until you have to send your slide off to the repair tech.
unfortunately, there hasn't been a marching season yet that i haven't dropped my slide. thats 3 years of dropping it.
have you ever been moving your slide back and forth really fast and have the outer slide come off, and you don't realize it... so it comes back into your hand...not on your hand, but into your hand...it cuts you really bad.
