so it is that time again, a new horn and im thinking about getting in the shires or edwards class, Im looking for somthing a little jazzy small bore .500 ish but I want a slightly bigger bell 7.75 or 8 in bell.

I spent over 2 hours playing a shires .525 1glw7.75 and loved it the next day i jumped on an edwards t302 excalibur for a few hours and loved it to.

If you have experience with this class of horn and have a recomendation id love to hear it. while all opinions are apreciated, Id especially like to here from professionals and semi pro players that have 15+ years of experiance.
thanks

From my experience... both are great horns. If you want one that looks really pretty, get a Shires. If you want a horn that doesn't care about looks, only about performance; get an Edwards. Edwards tech team is amazing. Though I have two really close buddies who play exclusively jazz and they have gone through the entire process of choosing a new jazz horn and taken King and Yamaha...

Both horns are beautiful in terms of looks and performance. One is not "better" than the other. It's just a matter of personal preference.
