Dona Nobis Pacem huh? It sounds boring, no offense, since Dona Nobis Pacem means "Grant Us Peace" in Latin... or at least something to do with peace and love. But hey, congratulations on making first chair! It's a whole lot more fun playing melody type stuff rather than boring accompaniment.

this may not pertain to you, it's for first chair players in general.
it's alot more fun but it's also a big responsibility. you've deffinatly got to step up your playing. you have to be the agressor, if there is a hard trombone part, you have to play it right befor anyone els. every one in your section has to fallow you in style, dinamics,....everything.
i was chair in the distric band this year and the three players infront of me had no B@!!$ what-so-ever and our sectional soud realied on me and the fith chair player. we where the most aggresive players and had to cairy the rest of the section.
so being first chair means you have to be strong
