I was browsing through ebay and saw this strange looking brass instrument. It says it's a "trumpet trombone" in the item description. I thought, "okay, so it's a valve trombone". That's what it probably is, except it appears to have rotor valves as opposed to cylindrical ones. Has anyone seen/played a similar instrument?

Actually, I have. When I was on tour years ago to Eastern Europe, I think in Vienna, we saw a large brass band in the city center and there were a few of these. I took a picture, I'll try to find it. They are a little more common in Euro brass bands.
