Hey kids,
I'm a jazz trombone player who has a number of different mouthpieces. I'm hoping someone can explain some of the differences between the styles and shapes and how that effects the sound.

I have three Conn mouthpieces. Two are cone shaped or like a funnel. One is a Conn 2 and the other is a Conn 3. The third Conn is a 12c which is similar to your typical trombone mouthpiece shape. I also have a Yamaha mouthpiece; a Yamaha 47.

Since I'm playing mostly lead trombone and some 2nd part on a straight horn Yamaha YSL-352... Can someone explain to me the differences between these mouthpieces and which might be the most appropriate?

Thank you for your time and help!
Brian
