hello!
you know with the guitar theres a blues scale - its fun to use for improvising to music and stuff - is there a scale like that for the violin?? i could just use the same notes/scales i use for the guitar - but i wanna see the "real" thing - also any tips comments on improvising on the violin to music etc would be appreciated!!!
I want you sarah michelle gellar!lol
Well, I play the bass guitar as well as the violin (I should have played the double bass, but it was too big and expensive), but try playing Minor scales. Apart from Major scales, which ave the standard sharps/flats, you add 3 flats to a Major scale to create a Minor scale. Say you play D Major, to play it Minor, you need to eliminate the F# and C# and play B flat, but start on the D String. It makes a whole lot of difference, but I`ve played a few blues pieces, and their key signatures are like F Major (D Minor), B Flat Major (G Minor), and E Flat Major (C Minor).
Other than that, I wouldn`t know of any blues scale. You could also go with your idea and transcribe the notes from the guitar to the violin, such as tab wise?
