I'm currently a high school student who has been playing violin for 8 years now. My current violin, which I have had for four years costed around $400, great for its price, but my orchestra teacher says that I must change if I want to move up in chairs. I am an intermediate/advanced player and am looking for a nice violin less than 1000 dollars. Any suggestions???

I know know about the master's series, but the one I had gotten when I was an advancing student did sound very good, and it's also a Carlo Lamberti.
Hopefully this helps

Take a look at www.stringworks.com . I have a Maestro violin from them; I love it. Great tone, and it's beautiful! I got many compliments on the look in my old symphony, even though most of the violinists in it had spent at least 10 times as much on their instruments.
