PLEASE I NEED UR HELP!!!!! I just got an instrument from a friend to borrow for the summer but I'm not sure wether it's a viola or a violin.....i know i viola's bigger but i just can't figure it out....HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Oh no!! That is really bad. I am a violinist, but I have seen enough of violas so that I might be able to recognize it. A viola sounds a lot like a cello, where as a violin is a much higher pitch and squeakier. A viola is also wider than a violin.

A) The viola is still usually in the case.

if your of normal height (?!) when you have the violin against your shoulder and you extend your arm out to the side, then the scroll should fit on your wrist, its probably a violin. im not to sure about that but its a good way to see if your intrument is the right size.
