I was asked the question "Why do parents usually start their young children in playing the violin rather then other instraments?". I couldn't give that person the answer becuase I didn't know the answer. My only guess would be because the violin comes in serveral different sizes for different sized players (but so dose the viola and the cello). Maybe someone here can help me answer this question.
All opinions and suggests welcome.
i started playing when i was about seven years old. i WANTED to learn the violin. i don't know what made me want to play the violin over anything else. it's just something i wanted to try.
i want my son to play but mostly because it's what _I_ played growing up and thus i can save money on lessons early on cuz i can teach him at first lol.
and you have to admit. little violins... 1/8th violins are soooooo cute!!!
yeah, the little violins are cute!
but for some reason, you always see like little Asian kids playing the violin when they are barley old enough to talk... and I kind of with my parents did that for me.
I just want to know why parents do that.
Well its just like liitle kids playing soccer or doing dance when theyre four. they are small. you've got to keep them entertained!
that and little kids learn things so much faster then when they are older, so they find it so much easier to learn violin then a twelve year would.
Well, in Sweden the Asian children often starts playing violin very early! I don't know why. Maybe they like violins in Asia?
I agree with those who thinks that 1/8 violins are very cute I forgot my violin at home on a lesson one time, and I had to play on a 1/2 violin. That was pretty hard because I usually play a whole-sized violin...
