Is this common or am I doing something wrong? I applied rosin to the bow and during the application, a few strands of hair pulled out which I cut off. Did I apply the rosin too strongly or can this happen from time to time? Thanks.

Hairs will come out from time to time. Is this the first time this has happened to you?

Yes, I've only had my violin for a short time and I think I applied the rosin to the bow when it wasn't tightened! I've had no problem since.........thanks.
