if you have a flat wrist, your fingers cant reach as far as you can when your wrist is straight. also dont put your fingers flat on the string. lightly put your fingers on the tips.(and NO white knuckels) relax your hand and wrist and mabey your 3rd position wont sound as bad.

when you put to much presure on your strings and your fingers turn white cause you press to hard your knuckels turn white.
