So, here goes another one of those people who say they wana learn the violin (points at self), but then 1.5 weeks later, they realize they are too busy. Gotta million things to do! I am still skeptical about just how far I will take this? Will inspiration and desire perservere, or will my endurance fail me? But one thing I know for sure is my heart becomes so soft when I hear the violin man! I wana learn! I've always loved how it sounds, and I think it has so much potential. I feel it is so underused in different genres. I mean, you do see it, electric, fiddlers, classics, blah blah, but not typically. That's good I suppose, I couldn't deal with a melted heart mainstream!
What I'm mainly worried about is my age. I'm 25, think that's too old? Are my bones already molded? I mean, imagine playing at 4? Your whole infrastructure molds into the bow man. Your brain is wired to be one with whatever it is you do most.
i think you should give the violin a try if you really love it...that's what i did.i did not start at an early age myself(i just started a few months ago and i can see my effort pay off).i'm not 25 or anything--i'm 14.before i had lessons i was also wondering if i'm too old to start but still i went for it and i'm totally loving it.
i don't think the age really matters, its the perserverance, sure you can make a little kid learn and they learn faster, but you can learn the same, and you do it under your own will power which will make you want to do your best. i think give it a go, that way you can't regret not doing it. i wasn't as madly-in-love-wanting-to-play as you where when i went to my first lesson (the music teacher at my school actually found me one day and said "why aren't you at your lesson, your teachers waiting! i had no idea i was signed up, so there you go, mum got a shock when i brought a violin home anyway!) and certainly try playing different genres, though learn classical, its easier to get a better posture and then play relaxed stuff like fiddle, then get a crappy posture and try and play some classical! there is some good classical (and fiddle!) out there!
don't worry about others, give it a go, its all you can really do.
you cannot say "I can't do it" until you have tried and failed. then you should try again.
You could try and if you dont like than you dont like it. But than you can a lest said you give it a shot. But no one is perfect when they first start just dont expect too much of yourself.
I started at 13 and i don think i'm too old to start that time. I can't find the time to practice at the beginning too. But i eventually arranged the time and i love it now! Just keep finding spare times to practice, you'll get hooked to it and can't wait to touch a violin when you have nothing to do!
I don't think age matters at all. I've been longing to play the violin since I was young. (I had a lesson when I was young, but then my parents thought the instrument cost too much/was too delicate/etc. so they said no.)
Now I'm twenty one, I've done two lessons, and I've completed Suzuki book one. It's all about determination and PRACTICE! (It's so much easier than the piano, which was what I played before...)
I am sure that if you have a bit of patience and passion, you can definitely be a violinist I started playing the violin when i was... 7? and now im 17... so yes i've been playing for 10 years I have completed up to grade 8 on the violin, and i can assure you, that to actually "play" the violin, takes a lot of time, care and love i mean, i know a lot of people who learn the violin, not because they want to, but their parents force them to. So i think if you love the violin, you should definitely try it If you are busy, then tell your teacher that you cant have weekly lesson, and perhaps have fornightly lessons, so that way you will not be wasting your money and it will give you more time to practice
