Are there any successful Violinists who started at an older age? Maybe around 25 or above?
As I know, Most of the violinists started very young. I have been thinking really hard to pursue my hobby into a more serious education and I have been looking for schools and colleges who are willing to accept people like me. And its kinda hard since they are accepting really talented people.
Its kinda frustrating that I have realized that I love my violin and that this is what I really would want to do. I want to be part of an orchestra someday but somehow this dream is not much achievable becuase I am old and does not have any music education.

Don't be silly, 25+ isn't old at all.. I started when I was almost 20 and one of my teacher's piano students was in his 40's when he started to learn.. neither of us had any music experience before.
There's no rush really, you have years to perfect your talent and do what you want.

go for it!!
25 isn't old at all. i would recommend getting a private teacher over trying to find a group class.
a private teacher will be able to work with you one on one and progress at your own level. advancing faster in areas you find easy and taking your time in the areas that you need.
another thing I'd recommend is to get some basic music theory books or looking at the theory lessons on this website.
if you have some music knowledge already than that will help a great deal, if not, then look into gathering some information.
you can get yourself a little bit a head before you start lessons by learning a bit more about note value and other basic theory.
have fun!

Gosh, I'm 15, and I've only been playing for a year or so, and I've already improved a bunch. Probably if you keep practicing, your playing will progress, like mine

Thanks alot for the encouragement> I have been studying to play the violin for almost 2 yrs from a private tutor. However I felt bad that I progress so slow. I know its normal especially im old and dont have my full time to practice and study.
I think that Ill be able to improve more if i can go to a music school and be fully exposed to music not just the violin. However i am afraid that younger people attend those kind of school and not me, and i have little chance of succeeding.

no worries dude...
I picked up the violin last year....
without any musical background...ZERO...
I was 22....I'm turning 23 soon...
After a year...I can now play the 3 movements of Vivaldi's Concerto in A....
one perfect tip...you have to practice....you must....:D
Don't worry dude....just go ahead and pursue with your dreams..
