I'm looking for a new violin. I play Irish fiddle; does anyone know of a violin that is good for folk/traditional music? Thank you.

A violin does not sound Celtic. It's how you play it--your technique and your own personal flare that will make it sound Celtic. If you really like Celtic fiddling, you will love Mairead Nesbitt. She has a fan forum at www.maireadforum.com/forum

Thank you all . Zevida: yes, I have seen her play, and it is amazing. I was looking for a certain tone in a violin that is nice for Irish fiddle, but then again the strings make a big difference in the tone, too.
I have found a Gliga violin that I am going to try (they seem to be popular).
