Help!
I have been looking into purchasing a violin during the past few months. There are two that I am interested in, one that is dated in the 18th century and is made by a German by the name of Heinrich (no other name is given). All I could manage to find was that he worked at Ponne (Tyrol) in 1790. The other violin was made by a man named August Meinel who was born in 1868 at stationed himself at Liesal, Switzerland. I have been unable to find out anything else on these makers. Does anyone know anything or have any references to point me towards? Thanks!!!
VIOLIN; Heinrich of Ponne; Tyrol; c.1790.A rare and exquisite violin built by an important Tyrolean court instrument maker at the end of the Baroque era, this restored violin is in excellent condition. Its sweet, strong tone and wide array of tonal colors have been heard in past concerts of the Charlotte Symphony. $4000 SEE THE PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE OF THE VIOLIN YOUR LOOKING FOR!!!
