For sale is a lovely viola from the early 1940's, imported from Germany by the Jackson-Guldan Co. (America's first large-scale importer of fine string instruments). It's a trifle over sixteen inches, and has a lovely, rich voice that projects beautifully in a hall and blends nicely in chamber settings. (I've used it primarily for quartet work and viola/piano recitals). It has a gorgeous boxwood chinrest, and a lovely dark red finish on a golden ground. The bow is a German-made pernambuco bow, fully lined, and mates PERFECTLY with this instrument. It has a great bounce, and is super easy to control. The case is a Pro-Tec International, with MORE than enough room for any accessories you might have. Also included are some extra strings and a Kun shoulder rest.
Sound files and photos are available if you want them...
Thanks!
