I've played the viola for 14 years, but sadly the time has come to part with mine. I'm currently moving overseas and also expecting my second child and I need to pass my beloved instrument on to someone more serious.
It's a 1999 Handcrafted 16" Andreas Eastman Viola. Made from High-Quality Maple with Ebony Fittings. Powerful, rich tone and quick response. Perfect for a dedicated, serious student who wants a step above the standard student models. (I actually purchased this one in Highschool preparing for college as a music major.) The Bow is Pernambuco, German Silver Mounted Ebony Frog, Octagonal stick. The outfit includes: Oblong Case with green velvet lining, Cushy Outerwear Case with Backpack Straps, Intellitouch Electronic Tuner, and of course the standard accessories (shoulder rest, tuning fork, rosin etc.) I also have some used music books in good condition.
I've loved this instrument, it has served me well through my intense playing days. I've owned it for 5 years, and it's in excellent condition. It's the same instrument I have pictured in my icon. I also have more pics available. I am asking $4,000 for everything, but I am absolutely willing to negotiate, and eager to sell, especially to a dedicated player, because so far I've only received scam offers.
If anyone is interested please contact me immediately by email or phone. Queen_st84@hotmail.com and phone number is (937)262-8779 (ask for Sarah).
I am in Dayton, Ohio and if anyone is local you are welcome to come try out the viola at my house.
Also, even if you're not interested, if anyone has any advice on the best places to post an ad, I'd appreciate it.
No, I haven't sold it yet, although I really want to. It wasn't marked with a model number, only the serial number (which is 1048). I can tell you the back is made of 2 pieces of joined wood, not like some other Andreas Eastman models with a one piece back.
One thing I didn't mention in the ad is that it is 16" but I'm 5'1" and never had any difficulty playing it. I think the fingerboard is a little shorter and more accomadating to the smaller player.
Anyway, if you or someone else is interested let me know, because it really needs to go.
I dunno.. I check out some Andreas Eastman Violas... and some are really cheaper... but see I don't know what you have with out the serial number... thanks anyways.
Bring the instrument to multiple instrument sellers in your area. Or go to the local middle or high schools, ask to talk to the orchestra director or e-mail them. Normally they are happy to tell their students about great opportunities like this.
