Hi,
I'm new to viola. Was wondering if you guys could recommend some strings... I've been looking online & frankly I'm at a loss. There are multiple types of synthetic strings, steel stings, & gages. I just want some extra strings that won't cost me an arm & a leg that sound alright. Any help would be great.

If you have a starting viola, stick witht he current strings for now. Upgrade once you know the instrument better. I've been playing for almost 6 years now and i still use the regular (stell, i think) strings that i started with (not inclusing replacements and stuff). Just ask the local music shop, if anything.

Tomostic Dominant, they're pretty good thats what i have now after having a lower quality and they sound amazing, the tone is alot deeper and stuff, but i've used the same strings ever since i've started playing. which was prelude i think, and i finnaly got to try dominant strings.
