I am about ready to buy a cello for myself. I am thinking about $600. Will this get me an ok cello? What should I look for anyways? Pointers would be helpful.

it depends, $600 will get you a decent instrument

The more you buy now, the longer you will have the instrument, before needing/wanting to upgrade.
