I'm looking for a decent student cello. I found one that was reasonably priced, a Hermann Beyer cello made in Hungary. It's second hand. And if it's a good brand, how much would you pay for one that's second hand.

My local music store has Hermann Beyer cello. I just rented one for my son. They sell new for ~$1100-1300, and used ones for $900-1100.
I am in CA.
