hi, i need help, i have a 20 fret jazz bass, but i want to place a 22 fret neck.. itīs possible without affecting the sound?? i know i īll have to have the bass get octaved, but i want to know if i can place the neck, with no problems, or i have to use only 20 fret.

Well, I would say that, depending on how expensive your bass was, it may or may not be worth it... if it was a cheapo, then don`t bother, as it will require professional handling and cost an arm and a leg. If it is expensive one, well, I wouldn`t risk it being f***ed up. Just learn to play on your 20 frets! There is always a way around it, most great bassists use 20 frets, Mike Dirnt, Mark Hoppus, Marcus Miller, Duff McKagan and Cliff WIlliams all use 20 frets.
