Hey there,
I decided to take the beginner guitar course at school, but unfortunately our class has several people who already play with whom the teacher spends all of his time . I have finally gotten to the point where I just bring my oboe and play that for these classes.
Anyways, it will soon be break and I want to use the time to teach myself how to play guitar properly. My problem is I don`t realy know where to begin. If you have any suggestions please tell me.
Thanks!

I began with finger pickin, then chords (its so hrd to use a pick to plat ungle strings for me now) so start with easy chords

Ok then. Thanks
I know some chords, I just can`t play them very well, so I think I shall try and find some simple music to practise them with

Get a basic guitar beginner method book from your music store (ask the clerk). Learn your first position notes and the chords; sing, play and chord through the songs. You'll learn a lot that way, and should be ready for more when the time comes.

I can't stress this enough FIND A PRIVET GUITAR TEACHER. They are a life saver. They are physically there to help you one on one. You hear of people like Buddy Holly or Slash that are self taught and thats cool if you have a really good ear and a knack for anything music. But as for the rest of us, we need professional help.
