I'm insulted by your poor spelling, gutair is not an instrument, a guitar is. Get that right before you learn how to play it.
Just learn all the chords, look them up and practice them everyday. Once you have your chords down move on to scales, start with penatonic, move to blues penatonic, then learn the major and minor scales. The key it to practice daily.
Step 1. Pick up guitar
Step 2. Tune guitar, theres a tuner on this site i think!
Step 3. Learn simple chords a lot of music is basic chords with a few bits added in
Find yourself a teacher, and DON'T Slam it off the wall!! Enjoy thats what its there for!
take your time and let it come to you keep your guitar well tuned because as you learn your are developing your ear, start on the B G D stings you can play all the major chords and all minor chords using just those strings a bar accross them is the major and move the finger on the B string back one fret closer to the tuning nobs for the minor
You get back what you put in.....I know its patronising but thats what I tell my students. They may hate me but I'm right! When I was learning I would hold a chord and play each string separatly making sure each note was sounded perfectly. Then practice changing chords smoothly. I highly recommend a teacher especially in the early stages( unlearning bad habits is very disconcerting) and finally, learn to read music. Good luck and have fun
Hey -
I'd just like to say something... yeah, it is good to start with chords, but I know a lot of people who have played guitar for years and only read tabs and regret not being able to read music... I started off with reading music rather than chords.
Just a suggestion: learn how to read music as well as playing chords.
Well, you have to do something about that. If you really want to learn to play the best thing to do is to get a teacher. The mistake that a lot of people your age make is that they try only one teacher or two and then they say, "Well, I have tried it with a teacher and it doesn't work for me." Trust me, if you want to learn to play and you were not able to learn with a teacher, then you had the wrong teacher. Look for another one. There are many bad teachers, especially those that are not good working with younger people. Take my advice, and I know it is difficult to understand, but sometimes you have to go through 3 or four teacher before you find the right one. If you really want to play the guitar, most likely, the teacher or teachers you have had have not been the right one for you. So, find another one. Keep trying on your own, but at least give it another chance and look into it. You might find the teacher that is able to show you the most amazing things on the instrument. Take Care and good luck!
